  • hey everyone! sorry its been AGES since i updated but xanga doesn't work here in ukarumpa and so the only way i can update is through other people.

okay, so what's been happening with me? well....i'm in school and its going fairly well. i've made a bunch of new friends...haha, i'm even friends with some of the seniors. that makes some of my friends in my grade a little annoyed because i dont hang out with them as much--but having older friends has its benefits. like...they have cars and can drive you around...=) cause here, gas is SUPER expensive. its like 4 dollars a gallon....so we don't drive that much even though we have a car. its not like things are that far away...but there are HILLS. and we live on top of the hill so i have to hike up and down this hill every day to go to school and back. very annoying.  and we get lunch break here too, which is nice. cause you don't have to take a sack lunch or buy your lunch at school like all YOU guys do...hahaha. i get to come home every day for an hour lunch break and eat something freshly made. MUAHAHAHA.

soo yeah....i'm reallllly sorry that i cant update as often or comment on your sites. but know that i love you and miss you guys all TONS. if you want to e-mail me instead...that'd be nice=)

i get waves of homesickness though. i'm fine for most of them time...but every once in a while its like, BAM. i miss duncanville, and my dog Buddy, and all my friends, and chuch, and even SCHOOL! its just....different here. and i miss each and every one of you.

i guess that's all from me for now....hopefully i'll get someone to update again for me soon. i just feel kinda bad having to get other people to do it, but its the only way!

  •  Libby has NOT fallen off the face of the planet and will hopefully be returning to the xanga world...SOON. She is currently residing in Ukarumpa, Papua New Guinea where school has ALREADY started, she seems to be settling in well and just hopes that she won't get too sick of the people in her class, seeing that she is stuck with them for the rest of her highschool career.

    love from,

    libby

i've certainly found that statement to be true.

  • aww thanks guys for all the comments....they almost made me cry. i'm serious, i just felt so loved to come back from being out in the village to 16 comments from all my friends...=)

but yes. we went out to our village on friday night...on a very small, dinky boat, that bounced up and down all night and made everyone seasick. including me. and i hardly EVER get seasick....it was pretty terrible. but getting to the village made it worth the trip....we were welcomed by a HUGE group of people, and we they had traditional warriors come up with big spears and pretend to want to kill us. (hahaha...i know it sounds not very welcoming, but its a cultural tradition there)

the next day was sunday, and we woke up very early (6:00) and had to go down to church. after church we all went outside and the Bishop dedicated the Bibles. after dedicating the Bibles, my dad and some other people sold Bibles to people there, it was great to finally see people holding the Arosi New Testament in their hands!! there was much feasting and celebrating...thousands of people came to the dedication...it was a really big day! that night we got back on the boat at about 12:30, and came back to Honiara. the trip back was a lot better because the seas were a lot calmer, and no one got sick! so thanks everyone for praying for calm seas....those prayers were very much appreciated!

so yeah....that's what's been going on for me the past couple days. maybe i can post some pictures sometime, to give you guys a better idea of what the dedication was like. sometimes, words just don't cut it.

well, i guess that's all from me for the time being...hope this post wasn't TOO confusing ;)
